Sono state annunciate le nominations alla 63esima edizione degli Emmy Awards, i premi televisivi che saranno presentati dall’attrice Jane Lynch e mandati in onda dal canale televisivo Fox il 18 settembre.
I più nominati dell’edizione 2011 sono stati Mildred Pierce, la mini serie in cinque parti prodotta dalla HBO, con ben 21 nominations e Mad Men, presente in ben 19 categorie, seguono con 18 e 17 nominations Boardwalk Empire e Modern Family.
Il sito TVLine ha raccolto le reazioni di alcuni dei nominati. Hugh Laurie, arrivato alla sua sesta nomination per la sua interpretazione del Dottor House senza mai vincere, ha dichiarato ironicamente: “Questa volta metterò un intero coniglio nel mio portachiavi“.
Jim Parsons, il divertente Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, si è dichiarato che essere a New York gli ha permesso di venirlo a sapere dopo colazione invece che alle 5 di mattina e che il primo messaggio di congratulazioni è stato quello della moglie di Simon Helberg, Jocelyn: “è una grande amica. Ha battuto mia madre almeno di 30 minuti. Non sto scherzando!“. L’attrice Martha Plimpton, nominata nella categoria Lead Actress in a Comedy per Raising Hope, ha scherzato anche in questa occasione raccontando che il suo cane si è talmente agitato a causa della sua nomination da avere un attacco di diarrea improvvisa all’interno della sua doccia. Martha ha poi voluto ringraziare tutti coloro che le hanno reso possibile ricevere questo prezioso riconoscimento. Chris Colfer, tra i possibili vincitori nella categoria Supporting Actor in a Comedy, non era sicuro di ottenere una seconda nomination. E’ stata sorpresa anche Julia Stiles, che con la sua partecipazione negli episodi di Dexter ha ottenuto la nomination come Guest Actress in a Drama: “sapevo che stavano arrivando gli Emmy perché ti inviano tutti gli screeners, ma non sapevo fossero oggi. Così quando ho ricevuto una telefonata dal mio manager stamattina presta, ho capito che era importante: era troppo presto per ricevere una chiamata“, ha affermato l’attrice.
Nella lista dei possibili vincitori si nota l’ottimo debutto di Game of Thrones e Boardwalk Empire e il mancato riconoscimento, ancora una volta, per gli interpreti del serial Fringe che non hanno ancora ottenuto una nomination nonostante le ottime interpretazioni di tutto il cast.
